Halloween is upon us, so it’s time to watch horror movies and horror math for 3rd grade movies only. Netflix is home to such a stunning range of horror movies that this introduction is going to be a list of the titles that didn’t make the main recommendations.

In addition to the password-sharing fees, Netflix also plans to launch cheaper subscriptions supported by advertising next month.  After years of being relatively laissez faire about password sharing, Netflix started testing ways to get shared accounts to pay after dealing with its deepest subscriber losses ever earlier this year.

But this scheme is already being tested in a few Latin American countries and charges a fee for each extra member worth roughly one-quarter the price of a “standard” Netflix plan.  The company didn’t specify the price of these new fees when it confirmed the plan Tuesday.

The expertly-crafted horror film that quietly doubles as an allegory for STDs.

He is, in fact, super creepy. And I’ve got to give it to Mark Duplass. I typically enjoy horror films that rely on performances to unnerve you, because they’re incredibly difficult to pull off. Creep (2014)

If you’re looking for further proof the Duplass brothers are actually evil, here’s an easy sell. Patrick Brice (also the director and co-writer) plays a videographer answering a Craigslist ad for Josef (Mark Duplass), who wants to make a movie for his supposed unborn child.

MacDonald received a Golden Globes nomination for her performance in The Girl In The Cafe, a Richard Curtis directed drama, before secure a supporting role in the Academy Award-winning No Country For Old Men in 2007.

Filmed largely in Edinburgh and Glasgow, the drama will follow the disappearance of O’Neil’s daughter, whose investigation leads him to fear that her the case may be linked to that of another missing girl years earlier, potentially exposing a police cover-up.

Yet Cam is no documentary, following Alice Ackerman, a young camgirl who one day discovers an exact replica of herself has taken over her show. Cam (2018)

This smart psychological horror is partially drawn from co-writer Isa Mazzei’s experiences as a camgirl (or webcam model). This unique thriller flashing red with the threat of technology is an excellent feature to hit play on.

Netflix appears to be eschewing this model in favor of the other one it tested.  In July, Netflix said it would test a different method in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. Streaming at any additional households for more than two weeks, would prompt the account to set up — and pay for — additional “homes,” with a limit on how many additional homes you can add depending on how much you’re already paying for Netflix. This test established an account’s primary residence as the “home” for the membership.

From Netflix’s impressive stash of international films comes Spanish sci-fi horror The Platform. Social commentary rings throughout this dystopian thriller, which takes shocking, occasionally gruesome turns all the way to the bottom. Its high-concept story centers on a tower that delivers food to people on each of its many levels via a platform.
