March 17 (Reuters) – The television channel of a sanctioned Russian businessman on Thursday said Alphabet Inc’s Google had lost a court appeal against a 2021 ruling that the company pay a compounding fine for blocking access to the channel’s YouTube account.

A simmering confrontation between Moscow and foreign tech firms has escalated in light of the crisis in Ukraine, and Russia has blocked access to Meta Platforms Inc’s flagship social media, Facebook and Instagram.

The confidential agreement also stipulated that the accuser agreed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice ‘within 24 hours of the Execution Date,’ comply with a non-disparagement clause that bars her from criticizing Watson publicly, and forbid her from disclosing the amount of the settlement.

‘I realise I hadn’t had an education, and I tried some side jobs, 9-5 jobs and none of it worked. So I did a bit of study on how to work in something you love. That was social media, and it’s really started to take off in the last year.’
